Topics were "What I See From My Window", "The Nicest Person I Know", "Heroes I'm Proud Of" and "The Best Place In My Neighborhood".

Students, their parents, teachers and principals attended the HAPCO Awards Dinner in their honor.

HAPCO is also providing a Pizza Party for classes of all the winning students.

Carol Hirschfeld, Philadelphia School District Center City Region Director of Instruction congratulated the winning students, their parents and the principals and teachers of the winning schools.

Spring Garden School Principal Elois Dupree and teachers Michelle Way, Penny Seidman and Delta Osea.

The winning essays dealt with love and appreciation of an uncle, a mother, a teacher; the joy of a favorite neighborhood store; the beauty of nature; and in some cases the need for more fathers, less crime and more strength and determination in order to succeed under difficult circumstances.
